Happy Birthday, Science Friday!

For the next year, we’ll be celebrating SciFri’s upcoming silver anniversary.

Happy Birthday, SciFri fans! On this day in 1991, Science Friday went on the air for the first time. What fun that was! As we enter our 25th year, we thought we’d share that first show (click on the Sound Cloud link below).

As you listen to this episode, which features the late Dr. Sherwood Rowland before he won his Nobel Prize in chemistry, you may be surprised to hear the talk turn to “the greenhouse effect” and “global warming.” Yes, we were discussing it a quarter-century ago!

For the next year, we’ll be celebrating Science Friday’s 25th anniversary. We hope you’ll join us.
