The Scorpion & the Bully
by The Bug Chicks
For the final video in our kid-created content series with the Renaissance School of Arts and Sciences, we decided to tackle a subject that has gotten a lot of attention lately -- bullying. The students in this video made the connection between people's fear of scorpions due to their appearance, and the teasing to which some children are subject because they are different or weird. From this insight comes a video about Pandinus, a new boy in school who is a little different. Pandinus saves the day when another student is teased and harassed.
We always tell students when we are showing them our animals: "Just because it's different, it doesn't mean it's bad." This simple statement gave rise to this beautiful litttle video about bullying and open-mindedness. We hope you enjoy it and please share!
