With only a few days left in the Mt. Everest climbing season, mountaineer (and former Science Friday guest) Conrad Anker is pushing his team to the summit tonight. It's been a difficult season for expeditions to Everest. One guide service, Himalayan Experience, canceled its expeditions because of poor weather, and Anker's team has already scratched one attempt.
But the team is ready to set out and hopes to beat the bottleneck caused by so many climbers working their way to the summit during a break in the bad weather.
