The Lowe’s home improvement chain is teaming up with California-based Sungevity to make solor power more accesible to the masses. Some California Lowe’s locations will feature customer-friendly self-help kiosks that will email a solar panel installation estimate to the consumer within 24 hours. All the kiosks need is a few pieces of information and the customer is good to go.

The same iQuote system has been online for a while, resulting in 1,500 sales out of the 25,000 who gave the process a try. That’s a conversion rate of 6%. Not bad!
