For the next week I bring you a guest blogger….

Next week the 42nd INTERNATIONAL APICULTURAL CONGRESS – APIMONDIA 2011 will be held in BUENOS AIRES – ARGENTINA Sept. 21st through the 25th. This conference is a science based meeting of researchers, scientists, commercial and hobby beekeepers who gather together every two years, in a different country, to share the latest information on honey bees. Instead of trying to explain all that is involved, here’s a link to their website: http://www.apimondia2011.com/ingles/

My name is Rich Blohm and I have been keeping bees here on Long Island, NY for over 35 years. I will be attending the conference and writing about my experience here in this Science Friday blog each day. I’ve attended two of these gatherings in the past (Vancouver, Canada ’99 and Montpelier, France ’09). Simply stated, there will be so much information to absorb, it will be like drinking from a fire hose. So watch for my daily blog and if you have questions, send them here.
