It's been a great year for Science Friday. If you listen to us each week, you learned some interesting things, like the fact that 90% of the world's licorice goes into cigarettes and that nearly 8,000 bridges in the U.S. have been designated “structurally deficient” and “fracture critical.” You also heard Alan Alda announce the winner of the “Flame Challenge” and watched the video that best explains what a flame is. You probably also saw the amazing footage of bats from our “To the Bat Cave” video. And if you enjoyed hearing and seeing these stories, we hope you'll help us with a gift this year.
A big part of Science Friday's funding comes from listeners like you. So in order to keep the show on the air, we're asking you to make a donation to keep us going. If you donate $100, we'll send you a special, one-of-a-kind ornament featuring Ira Flatow. The ornament was created by our friends at Heroes of Science, and will help you celebrate – no matter what festivities you enjoy.
If you donate $50, we'll send you either our SciFri mug or our “Quote Tote,” featuring a line from Temple Grandin's Desktop Diary video.
If you can't give $100 or $50, we hope you can still give us a gift this year.
Thanks so much and Happy Holidays!
