This photo of a daddy long legs' (or harvestman) eyes won the 2010 Olympus BioScapes International Digital Imaging Competition. The Olympus BioScapes Competition acknowledges the best microscope photography of life science subjects for the previous year. Dr. Igor Siwanowicz, this year's winner, took this photo using a technique called confocal microscopy which creates great resolution and contrast. The entries to the Olympus BioScapes Competition demonstrate the bond between science and art.
