Malaria

Malaria kills an estimate 2 million people every year. Someone dies of the disease every twelve seconds. In rural Africa, one in twenty children under the age of five will die of malaria. Many scientists fear the situation could get much worse, as drug-resistant strains of the disease spread. In this hour of Science Friday, we'll take a look at the disease and at why it's so difficult to control.
