Deep Sea Research/Titanic

The deep sea covers most of the Earth, harboring perhaps ten times as many species of life as live on land. Until recently, scientists knew very little about life below the ocean. Now, military technologies developed during the Cold War have opened up many new opportunities for undersea exploration. In this hour of Science Friday, we'll be talking about deep sea research. Plus, as we approach the 85th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, we'll hear about new evidence that challenges the conventional theory of why the ship sank.
