> February 14, 1997 Columbia River Salmon Restoration
In this hour of Science Friday, we'll look at an issue near and dear to the hearts of northwesterners: the declining number of salmon that return to the Columbia River to spawn. Dams, irrigation and flood-control, among other human activities, have greatly diminished the area available to salmon and, ultimately, the number of salmon. We'll discuss the science of the situation, and some possible solutions.
