Hurricanes:
It's an ill wind that blows no one any good...
We're already twenty days into the official hurricane season. This year,
a hurricane expert is forecast ing eleven tropical storms and seven
hurricanes, making it possible that this season will be part of the
most active three year period on record.
But how do they know how many hurricanes there will be over the course
of the season? We'll find out about this long-term forecasting, how
shorter term predictions of the path of storms are made, and what this
season holds in store.
Plus, a look at El Nino and what effect it might have on our weather.
