> March 14, 1997 Media Coverage of Science/Science Funding
Less than a decade ago, almost 100 newspapers devoted a separate section to reporting on science. Today, more than half of those sections are gone, although we live in a time of incredible scientific achievement. Why aren't editors, publishers and producers devoting more time and space to science? In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk about media coverage of science, and about how the coverage that does exist affects the public, the scientific community and even decisions to fund research.
