> March 12, 1999: Hour Two: Biotech History/Biotech Future
| Everyone's talking about biotechnology. The Human Genome Project is chugging along, as is another competitive commercial project aimed at the same goal - sequencing every gene in human DNA. Biotech stocks are often some of Wall Street's darlings. The possibility of gene therapy is still looming on the horizon, as is the idea of cloning. And it seems like every other day that you hear of a new gene for something or other being discovered.
But where did this brave new world come from? And where is it going? Join guest host Richard Harris on this hour of Science Friday for a look at the world of biotechnology and what it might hold in store for you. | Image courtesy IMB-JENA . |
