Hour Two: Green Design and Construction
remote broadcast - Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Madison, Wisconsin

Building a new home? Thinking about doing some remodeling? Find out how to make your home, school, office, or development as energy-efficient as possible in this hour of Science Friday as we take a look at green design and construction techniques.

This week, we'll be broadcasting live from the grounds of the Midwest Renewable Energy Fair in Madison, Wisconsin. We'll be the guests of the nice folks at Wisconsin Public Radio.

Efficient homes can be traditional, like this adobe home
being fitted with solar panels...

...or futuristic, like this solar dome house in New Mexico.

During this hour of the program, we'll be speaking with experts about how to design a building for energy efficiency, how to retrofit existing structures to incorporate green design methods, and efforts to extend environmental design beyond the traditional one-family home to larger projects such as schools, apartment buildings, and office towers.

Call in with your green design questions, from daylighting to graywater recycling - our number is 1-800-989-8255. Or, if you're in the Madison, Wisconsin area, stop by!
