Hour Two: The Role of Chance in Baseball / Heisenberg Correspondence
Spring training is just a few weeks away--and that means itıs time
to talk baseball. Ranking players, teams, and managers by the numbers
(their 'stats') is a traditional part of the national pastime. This
hour, we'll talk with two mathematicians and fans who take a look at
the baseball numbers game.
Plus, is the mystery of "Copenhagen" solved? We'll hear from author
Jeremy Bernstein about the possible resolution to an intense debate
about the 1941 Copenhagen meeting between physicists Niels Bohr and
Werner Heisenberg.
Read the Bohr/Heisenberg
correspondence here.
