Hour Two: Richard Feynman / 'Q.E.D.'
These days, scientists turning up on stage and screen can be the stars
of the show....no longer just one dimensional, pocket-protector-sporting
geeks with crazy hair. In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk with
playwright Peter Parnell about his new play Q-E-D. The play takes a
look into the life of physicist Richard Feynman, known for (among other
things) his distinctive personality, Nobel Prize (1965, for "fundamental
work in quantum electrodynamics, with deep-ploughing consequences for
the physics of elementary particles") problem solving skills, and
bongo-playing.
What are the challenges of putting science on the stage? We'll talk
about it -- and we'll talk with a friend of Mr. Feynman's about the
challenges of being true to Mr. Feynman's memory.
