Hour One: Evolution
-- and Alternatives -- in the Classroom
The Ohio Board of Education recently revised its science standards
to include criticisms of evolutionary theory in biology classes in
the state's public schools. Although the Scopes trial took place over
75 years ago, the debate over teaching evolution in our schools is
not losing any steam.
In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk with some of the people
who spoke at the Ohio Board of Education meeting, arguing both for
and against the teaching of alternative theories to evolution in Ohio
schools. We'll discuss some of the merits and flaws in evolutionary
theory, and why the movement to teach intelligent design is so strong.

your opinions online in our Listeners' Lounge (registration required).
