Hour Two: Medical Marijuana
Though the Canadian government is moving forward with a plan to
sell marijuana to the seriously ill, the US government is seeking
to overturn a court ruling that some say encouraged medical marijuana
use by protecting doctors that recommended the drug to their patients.
In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk about the latest research
into medicinal use of marijuana.
Does marijuana have a proper place as a pharmaceutical drug? Would
drugs made from the chemical components in marijuana work just as
well -- or better -- than the natural plant? We'll talk about how
much is known, and how much still needs to be studied. Call in with
your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (3-4 Eastern), and share
your opinions online in our Listeners' Lounge (registration required).
