Hour One: Energy
Policy
What things should be the foundation of a national energy policy?
Hydrogen? Nuclear? Clean Coal? Conservation? Oil and natural gas?
Solar, wind, or hydropower? Members of Congress are grappling with
these, and other energy questions this week, as a major energy bill
makes its way through the Senate. It's a many-headed beast, containing
everything from provisions for ethanol use as a gasoline additive
to expanded funding for nuclear power plants. In this hour of Science
Friday, we'll talk about the energy bill and what YOU think should
-- or shouldn't -- be included.
Plus, we'll take a look at the progress of the European Union in
moving towards a hydrogen-based economy. Call in with your questions
and comments at 1-800-989-8255, and share your opinions online in
our Listeners' Lounge (registration required).
