Hour One: Cold Cases / FDA Commissioner McClellan
As head of the Food and Drug Administration, Commissioner Mark McClellan
is responsible for the safety of cosmetics, drugs, and medical devices
-- as well as for the safety of much of the food we eat. The administration
is also charged with the approval of new and experimental medications
and medical devices. In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk with
Commissioner McClellan about his priorities for the agency.
Plus, we'll look at efforts to use science in re-opening 'cold cases'
-- crimes that have sat on the books unsolved for years. Call in with
your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (2-3 Eastern), and share
your opinions online in our Listeners' Lounge (registration required).
