Hour One: Steroids in Sports / Budget for Science

In the annual division of the funding pie, NASA, NIST, and the Department of Energy get more, while the National Science Foundation gets less -- but what does it all really mean for the nation's research programs? Join Ira and his guests in this hour of Science Friday for an analysis of science spending in the recently approved budget bill.

Plus, a look at the effects of steroids on sports -- and on the human body. In recent weeks, sports including baseball and track have been rocked by allegations that some top stars partly owe their success to the use of banned substances. We'll find out what some of these chemicals are, how they work, and what other effects they might have on the human body. Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (2-3 Eastern).
