Aging

The number of Americans over age 65 will double in the next twenty years, as the baby boomer generation comes of age. What adjustments will our society need to make to accomodate a graying population? In this hour, we'll talk about the challenges facing older people and find out what researchers are doing to meet their needs--from health care that specializes in older people, to programs that help seniors live independently, to technology specially designed for aging hands and eyes.

Plus, what are Floridians are doing right? Older Floridians live longer than other Americans. We'll find out why. Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (3-4 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
