Thursday, four explosions shook London, killing dozens and injuring many more. In this hour of Science Friday, we'll talk about the forensic science techniques that may be used as investigators look for the people behind the bombing. What can be determined from explosives residues amidst the debris? How much can investigators learn from the remains of an explosive device? What techniques need to be used to protect potential evidence at the scene of a devastating event such as a bomb blast? Join guest host Joe Palca for a discussion.

Then, we'll turn our attention to stem cell research. Not the highly controversial embryonic stem cells, but more fully differentiated adult stem cells. We'll talk with one researcher looking at ways to use adult stem cells in treating heart conditions. Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (2-3 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
