Science News Roundup: Skeleton Find / Einstein Birthday / Firefox

The 'Lucy' fossil skeleton is one of the best-known finds in anthropology. Now, researchers have found a skeleton of the oldest known upright-walking animal, thought to be even older than Lucy's 3.2 million years. Join Ira and his guests in this hour of Science Friday for a look at the new hominid skeleton find.

Plus, a happy 126th birthday to Albert Einstein -- we'll look back at him as scientist and as person.

Finally, we'll take a look at a new way to browse the web. Since it was released last November, the Firefox web browser has been downloaded over 26 million times. Although Microsoft's Internet Explorer software still holds a dominating lead in the web browser market, Firefox, an open-source program freely available from the Mozilla Foundation, is making impressive gains. We'll talk about why Firefox is on the rise.

Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (3-4 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
