We're heading into the home stretch of the mid-term election season. In this hour, Ira talks with computer scientist Avi Rubin about the plusses and minuses of electronic voting. Critics say that with just weeks to go before the election, some serious flaws in electronic voting systems have yet to be resolved.
We'll also get an update on preparations for this year's flu season. Responding to vaccine shortages in recent years, many more doses of flu vaccine are available this year. Those doses are starting to make their way to vaccination clinics around the country. Will you be rolling up your sleeve for a flu shot?
And finally, we'll hear about new research into respiratory illnesses among some of the first responders to the World Trade Center catastophe. Scientists are looking at the effects of the dust from the collapsing, burning buildings, and how that dust may have interacted with an enzyme deficiency in some of the rescue workers to produce what has come to be known as the "World Trade Center Cough.'
