Parks And Climate Change / Forensic Psychology
Roosevelt and John Muir
Theodore Roosevelt and John Muir on Glacier Point, Yosemite Valley, California, 1906.. Library of Congress image.

From the disappearance of frogs in the cloud forests, to the bleaching of coral reefs, scientists say global warming is already affecting plants and animals around the world. And the world's parks and protected areas are not immune to the effects. As temperatures rise and habitats shift, can parks be managed to mitigate the effects of climate change? Ira Flatow and guests talk about it this hour.

Plus, this week, which began with the massacre at Virginia Tech, also marks the anniversaries of the shootings at Columbine and the bombing in Oklahoma City. In this hour, we'll talk with two psychologists about the mind of the mass murderer. Can knowing more about the people who commit these acts help us prevent future violence?

Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (3-4 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
