Don't know a black hole from dark matter? Join Ira in this hour of Science Friday for a tour of the cosmos, with guest astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, director of the world-famous Hayden Planetarium. His new book, Death by Black Hole, collects his best essays on astrophysics and the scientific pursuit.
Plus, from the lab bench to the frying pan. Will meat from cloned cows find its way to your table soon? Last week the FDA issued draft documents saying that the agency's risk assessment had judged meat from cloned animals to be safe to eat. However, a voluntary ban on the sale of such meat will remain in effect at least through April. That's when a public comment period ends, and the draft findings could be finalized. We'll talk about the issue of cloned meat, milk, and other animal products. Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (2-3 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
