New Consumer Electronics / Comet Watching / Greener Cars

This week saw dueling consumer electronics trade shows, with San Francisco hosting Macworld and Las Vegas hosting the Consumer Electronics Show. In this hour, we'll talk about the latest in gadgets and gizmos, including the new cellular telephone just unveiled by Apple.

We'll also hear about the latest forays by the major automakers into greener cars. Will concept cars like General Motors' new electric 'Volt' ever make the market? Several automakers offered new somewhat greener cars at the auto show in Detroit this week -- although there was no shortage of huge gas-guzzlers either.

Plus, tips on spotting the recently discovered Comet McNaught in the sky. Astronomers say that if you know where to look, you could be in for quite a bright sight. Call in with your questions and comments at 1-800-989-8255 (3-4 Eastern). Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
