I have heard cloning opponents claim that human cloning is against "God's will" and undermines human dignity. I am undecided about cloning whole humans. I am, however, for some human cloning research because I am for saving human lives and human dignity.

A women where I work has weak kidneys. To continue living, she must have kidney dialysis at least twice a week. The inside of her one arm is frequently covered with dark bruises from the needle. If human cloning research continues, someday doctors will be able to take her DNA and clone her a new set of kidneys and transplant them into her body.

I ask two questions:

1. Does God want this woman (and thousands in similar conditions) to die from kidney failure?

2. Is weekly dialysis more dignified than getting a new set kidneys?

I answer "no" to both questions.

And how many parents would be against human cloning saving the life of their child? Some human cloning saves human lives and human dignity.
