Using technology and social media, the Follow A Researcher TM program connects K-12 classrooms with research as it is being conducted in a remote location. We start with weekly video releases describing the research that are aligned with Next Generation Science Standards Practices. We give students a glimpse into a scientist’s world by providing live expedition updates via weekly twitter chats that may include questions generated by the video, or anything else students want to know about the expedition. We also provide information on how educators may use this information in their classrooms – including demonstrations and experiential learning activities!
