Lunar X Prize (broadcast Friday, September 21st, 2007)

In the 1960s, the U.S. and Soviet Union were in a race to the moon. Now, this generation has its own moon race: the Lunar X-Prize. In this segment, we'll talk with X-Prize founder Peter Diamandis--he'll tell us about th X Prize competition to send robots to the moon. Winning the competition, which is backed by money from Google, could mean as much as $30 million for the winning team. Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
