Psssst, wanna buy a space rock? Later this month, a major auction house is offering what it calls an auction of 'fine meteorites,' including a piece of the famous Willamette meteorite on display in the American Museum of Natural History in New York. (The piece was traded to a private collector over a decade ago in exchange for some Martian meteorite samples.) Buying bits of space has become a big business. In this segment, Ira talks with an expert on space-related collecting about the trend. Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
