Science of Baseball (broadcast Friday, March 28th, 2008)
Play ball! It's another sign of spring -- the opening games of the baseball season. Officially, Major League Baseball began its season this week with a series between Boston and Oakland played in Japan, though purists will argue that the real Opening Day won't take place till the first regular-season games on U.S. soil next week. In this segment, we'll talk about science and medicine as they relate to America's pastime, from statistics to orthopedics and psychology. Teachers, find more information about using Science Friday as a classroom resource in the Kids' Connection.
