From Atlantis to Antarctica

Array.alttext

Researchers surveyed the microflora population at hydrothermal vent Marker 52 in the Pacific Ocean. NOAA Vents Program, NEMO Seafloor Observatory

In this segment, we'll listen in on a phone call from Atlantis to Antarctica, to check in with researchers studying organisms that live in extreme environments: one group of scientists is working with the submersible Alvin, studying organisms living in hot, wet environments; the other group is in Antarctica checking out what lives in cold, dry places. We'll talk with both groups about the research they have in common.
