Sniffle, Sneeze, Urrp: Time for Colds and Flu (broadcast Friday, January 2nd, 2009)
They're both big causes of winter sick days, but influenza and the common cold are scientifically very different. Ira Flatow talks with cold and flu experts about the classic wintertime illnesses and how best to avoid needing to stock up on facial tissues and chicken soup. We'll also hear about new studies into the transmission of both colds and flu, and new work looking at the genetics of the 1918 flu outbreak.
