Brown Fat
Three studies published this week in the New England Journal of Medicine find that 'brown fat' - a type found in babies - is actually present in adults as well, and has impressive calorie-burning powers. Animals use the brown fat to produce body heat in cold conditions as an alternative to shivering. Researchers say that finding a way to activate the calorie-burning properties of the brown fat could help combat obesity. We'll talk about it in this segment.
