| In this segment, Ira talks with marine scientist Sylvia Earle about the state of the world's oceans, and what actions need to be taken to protect them from catastrophic damage. Earle, a National Geographic Explorer-in-Residence, is the author of the new book 'The World Is Blue: How Our Fate and the Ocean's Are One.' Earle argues that action must be taken now against overfishing, loss of coral ecosystems, and ocean pollution in order to prevent a global environmental crisis that affects life far beyond the ocean's shores. |
