BASE stands for the objects the practitioners of the sport jump from: buildings, antennas, spans, earth. Wingsuits are sometimes involved; parachutes, always. ScFri listener and avid BASE-jumper Luke Hively wondered about the physics of wingsuits, and asked if we could look into it. We wondered about the brain science of jumping off cliffs, and so we investigated that too.
