Adel Djellouli

Dr. Adel Djellouli is an Algerian experimental physicist whose work explores how elastic nonlinearities can be harnessed to create intelligent soft materials. He is the first author of multiple Nature papers, including discoveries on programmable fluids based on buckling microshells and the physical origin of friction-induced squeaking at soft-rigid interfaces. After earning his Ph.D. in experimental physics in France and conducting postdoctoral research at Harvard University, his work expanded toward bridging fundamental physics, mechanical engineering, and translational medical technology. He is the co-founder and CEO of SoftPulse, a venture developing a pressure-regulating cardiovascular implant to treat hypertension.
