Colin Domnauer is a Ph.D. candidate in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Utah, working in the Dentinger Lab at the Natural History Museum of Utah.

With a lifelong interest and undergraduate degree in astronomy before changing his studies to mycology, Colin is most passionate about research and storytelling that inspires a greater sense of wonder and connection to the living world, and the mind-bending mysteries it contains.

His current work explores a new type of psychoactive mushroom that causes vivid hallucinations of little people, which has taken him across the world — from the forests of southern China to the mountains of the Northern Philippines — and has been featured in international headlines including the Washington Post and the BBC.
