Paola Nogales Ascarrunz focuses her work on the conservation of wild cat species in Bolivia, including jaguars, ocelots, margays, Geoffroy’s cats, Pampas cats and tilcayos. Working primarily in the Chiquitano Dry Forest and Yungas forests, she uses conservation genetics, genomics and camera trapping to support species monitoring and research. Nogales Ascarrunz leads the Programa de Investigación de Félidos Bolivia, a local initiative dedicated to researching and conserving Bolivia’s wild cats.
