Stacy Fischer

Dr. Stacy Fischer has dedicated her academic career to advancing understanding of palliative care outcomes and the influence of social determinants of health among diverse populations living with serious illness. She currently serves as principal investigator of a clinical trial evaluating psilocybin-assisted psychotherapy for adults with advanced cancer to reduce anxiety, depression, and existential distress, the first National Cancer Institute-funded study of a psychedelic intervention.

Dr. Fischer is Director of the Palliative Care Research Program at the University of Colorado Anschutz and Co-Leader of the Cancer Prevention and Control Program at the University of Colorado Cancer Center. She also serves as Science Advisor to the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
