SciFri Book Club Catches ‘The Andromeda Strain’

The Michael Crichton classic tops the reading list.

This month, the book club revisits another classic, The Andromeda Strain by Michael Crichton, first published in 1969. According to his website, Crichton wrote the techno-thriller while he was still in medical school and it “caused an immediate sensation… partly because it focused on a biological crisis when most people were thinking about nuclear crises.” The book was a best-seller, and was made into a movie and a TV mini-series. (No cheating. You can Netflix those after you read the book.)

Get started—the book club meets again on January 25, 2013.
