Beth Ramme

Controller

Beth Ramme is Science Friday’s Controller and handles all things financial for the organization. Although she’s not a science brainiac like all of her co-workers, she loves having the opportunity to support the great work they do. Prior to joining Science Friday, Beth spent 10 years working for another mission-driven organization: Pro Bono Net, Inc., a national nonprofit dedicated to increasing access to justice for the disadvantaged. There, she was the Manager of Finance & Administration.

Outside of work, Beth loves spending time with her husband and kids (two grown and in the work world and twins in college). She is passionate about supporting families of children and adolescents who live with serious mental health conditions. Beth teaches a National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Signature Program—NAMI Basics—a class for parents and caregivers. She also teaches Mental Health First Aid to the general public which helps reduce stigma by increasing knowledge and awareness of mental health conditions.

Beth is originally from the Hudson Valley and relishes any opportunity to go back. Although Long Island can’t compare, being a five minute walk to a local beach and a five minute drive to a bustling downtown with a small town feel, lots of restaurants, and a great music venue isn’t so bad.
