Dr. Elisabeth Marnik is the Executive Director of The Evidence Collective and the Chief Scientific Officer for Those Nerdy Girls. She also runs Science Whiz Liz on Instagram and the Substack newsletter From the Science Classroom, where she works to make science understandable, accessible, and engaging for everyone. Growing up in an anti-science household, she saw firsthand how mistrust of science can take root. That experience fuels her mission to connect people with science through empathy, curiosity, and clear communication. She earned her PhD in genetics and immunology from Tufts University, and then left bench research to focus on this current work of expanding our science workforce and ensuring science is an open door for learners of all ages and backgrounds.
