Katherine Jossi is a digital communications associate at Science Friday, where she supports the website and newsletter universe. She first started listening to Science Friday as a child with her dad, who was a freelance journalist. Katherine was raised on public media and spent a summer interning at Minnesota PBS. 

Before joining SciFri, Katherine spent five years at the Pulitzer Center, where she worked across the editorial and communication teams. While there, Katherine open-sourced The AI Spotlight Series, a free online training series for journalists interested in bringing AI accountability reporting into their beat. The program was designed and led by journalist Karen Hao. Katherine also launched the center’s first topical newsletter on AI accountability reporting and oversaw the Eyewitness Photojournalism Grant and three photojournalism grantees. She supported the design, collaborations, and curation of three Pulitzer Center Photoville exhibitions in New York City. She loves working with journalists and bringing their important work to the public. 

Katherine is based in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Saint Paul, Minnesota, a city with a vibrant public radio scene. She has a B.A. in history and political science from Beloit College. Her interests include photography, the Minnesota Timberwolves, cooking, documentaries, and solo travel.
