

Sarah Lower is an Associate Professor of Biology at Bucknell University where she studies fireflies. She earned her Bachelor of Arts at Amherst College, her PhD in Genetics at the University of Georgia, and was a postdoctoral fellow at Cornell University prior to her current position. Sarah enjoys sharing the wonder of fireflies with a wide audience, including writing and consulting for print, radio, and film. She is a proud member of Fireflyers International Network, a global organization of storytellers, educators, and scientists who seek to catalyze firefly conservation through research, education, and advocacy. She finds balance in reading fiction, baking enormous cookies, and exploring nature with her family.
