What Will It Take to Land a Person on Mars?

Landing a human mission on Mars has captured the attention of both space agencies and space enthusiasts. The company Mars One announced its intent to send four people on a one-way mission to colonize the Red Planet before 2030. Sydney Do, a MIT aeronautics graduate research assistant, takes a look at the proposed plan and discusses the technical hurdles that must be cleared before any mission can successfully land on the planet.
