Science Friday Book Club Community Choice
Help SciFri select the final Book Club read of 2026! Will the winner be “The Comfort of Crows,” “Inside of a Dog,” or “Wild New World”?
For November and December 2026, Science Friday is putting the Book Club selection in our members’ hands. We asked for recommendations from our enthusiastic community and narrowed it down to three choices:
🐦⬛ “The Comfort of Crows: A Backyard Year” by Margaret Renkl – “With fifty-two original color artworks by the author’s brother, Billy Renkl, ‘The Comfort of Crows’ is a lovely and deeply moving book from a cherished observer of the natural world.”
🐶 “Inside of a Dog: What Dogs See, Smell, and Know” by Alexandra Horowitz – “Much more than a scientific exploration, ‘Inside of a Dog’ is a love letter to dogs, filled with personal observations and practical advice for people who live with dogs.”
🦬 “Wild New World: The Epic Story of Animals and People in America” by Dan Flores – “Eons in scope and continental in scale, ‘Wild New World’ is a sweeping yet intimate Big History of the animal-human story in America.”
Only Science Friday Book Club members can vote. But don’t worry, it’s free to join, and everyone is welcome! Use the form below.
