Cephalopod Week is upon us! And we’re swimming into our eighth year of spotlighting these majestic sea dwellers. To celebrate this colossal anniversary, Science Friday is hosting three special events for Cephalopod Week, happening June 18 to 25, 2021. We’ll get behind-the-scenes at an aquarium, play deep sea trivia, watch mini documentaries, and more! SciFri Trivia is a weekly gathering that’s part science-y facts, part dance party, and part pop culture romp—and it’s for anyone looking to bring together teams (or bravely play solo) to win ultimate bragging rights. We might not be able to poddy in person this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t gather together virtually to celebrate our favorite cephalopods!
We have teamed up with some of the squiddiest humans we know to bring you an amazing evening of videos, interviews and more—together, we’ll bring you stories about the mind of the octopus, what it’s like to dive for squid in the ocean around Hawai’i, and how biologists care for cephalopods behind-the-scenes at the country’s best aquariums and scientific labs. Dive deep with us!
